On 8 June 2025, I had the pleasure of being part of the 《SG:SW 我寫我的歌 2025》Songwriters' Summit, a special day dedicated to nurturing the next generation of lyricists and composers.
I was honoured to lead a Mandarin lyrics writing session, where we explored how to write lyrics from scratch. The hall was filled with focused yet curious minds, and it was heartening to see participants soaking up every bit of guidance with such openness and hunger to grow. The Songwriters' Summit also featured a panel discussion where fellow songwriters and I shared our experiences navigating creativity, self-doubt, and the evolving music landscape. Hearing different perspectives reminded me that while each journey is unique, our challenges and joys are often shared. To round off the day, I performed two of my latest original songs: 《想一個人》and《我們有多不快樂》. It was a beautiful way to come full circle, from talking about lyrics, to teaching them, and finally expressing them live on stage. Grateful for the invitation from Ocean Butterflies, the energy in the room, and every conversation that sparked new ideas and inspiration. To all the young songwriters who came: keep writing!
